about

Support

AURA QUE works with various charity-based producers around the Kathmandu Valley, and designer Laura Queening deals directly with many of the Nepalese producers, spending much time within the factories and workshops, developing long term relationships over the last few years.

Currently, AURA QUE helps our producers individually in small ways, such as a new pair of prescription glasses, school supplies for their children, or help with outstanding medical bills etc. In the future, AURA QUE aims to collaborate with Nepalese charities to make a difference to the lives of marginalised Nepali people.

Nepal Leprosy Trust (NLT) oversees its own leather production unit, based in Kathmandu, where the majority of our AURA QUE leather goods are made. They also run the Lalguardh Leprosy Hospital in Janakpur, South Nepal, which provides treatment for 30,000 patients every year, with those affected by leprosy receiving all treatment free of charge. We have visited the hospital to see what inspiring work NLT do to eliminate leprosy and educate those about the stigma of the disease.
