Fair Trade
Fair Trade is a process that creates sustainable links and partnerships between the designer and the producer, with the aim of benefiting a whole community, by producing desirable goods.AURA QUE works with manufacturers within the Nepal Fair Trade Group to produce knit, leather, cloth and paper goods, aiming to create long term relationships with both manufacturers and suppliers in Nepal.
These fair trade companies follow guidelines by IFAT (International Fair Trade Association) and give their producers 30% more than the average Nepali wage. This comes additional benefits, such as sponsoring their children's education, and paying for the family's healthcare. They employ under-privileged, disadvantaged or unskilled people, and teach them a trade to help them support their families.
