Recycled glass is used to make these chunky beads, which are strung by a team of women in rural Nepal who work from home around their family commitments. These traditional necklaces are sometimes worn by women in the hill and mountain regions in Nepal.
The tiny glass 'pote' beads are used to make traditional bead jewellery for Nepalese women, bought locally in Kathmandu. Our earrings hooks are sourced from the UK in brass or brass with silver plating; they are nickel, lead and cadmium free.
Our leather is sourced from a small family tannery in Kolkata and road-freighted to Kathmandu in bulk, to be used for all our leather and suede products; all chemicals used in the process are contained and reprocessed within the water treatment facility on site. Unless otherwise specified, our leather products are handcrafted with unlined leather and finished with antique brass fittings.
