This fine wool scarf is very soft and light but warm. It is handwoven in Kathmandu on wooden looms and then hand screen-printed with a Mithila design inspired by Nepalese artwork from South Nepal.
The design shows daily life in rural Nepal, which the Mithila women of South Nepal would originally paint on their houses in bright colours during festivals, which would then fade or wash away in the monsoon each year. The paintings are rooted in traditions which Mithila women have passed down through generations and depict scenes of daily life and festivals as well as Hindu gods and stories.
Only available in Beige. SOLD OUT in Light Grey.
