Our beautifully patterned fine woven dhaka fabric is sourced from a local distributor in Kathmandu who sells these geometric designs made by rural weavers far and wide in Nepal, including rural villages in Palpa, West Nepal. The fabrics are usually made in batches by one weaver, making them difficult to reproduce - which makes each design unique. Read our blog post about dhaka weaving here. Our leather is sourced from a small family tannery in Kolkata and road-freighted to Kathmandu in bulk, to be used for all our leather and suede products; all chemicals used in the process are contained and reprocessed within the water treatment facility on site. Leather is the traditional material for 3rd wedding anniversary gifts.
Handmade in a small artisan workshop by Navaraj and his team from his home workshop in Kathmandu, Nepal. Navaraj is very creative and always keen to work with us on new product ideas for AURA QUE. We have been working together since 2016. AURA QUE products are individually handcrafted and the unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm!
Please note that the cost of discounting products is absorbed by AURA QUE and not the fair trade producers we work with.
