All pens come with high quality UK-made metal components in chrome or gold colour finish. Pens are packaged in a recycled cardboard pouch with information leaflet. Unfortunately, we are unable to engrave messages on our pens as we do not have the equipment for engraving. Our fountain pen nib is a medium size, suitable for both right- and left-handed writers. It comes with an ink converter (that can be refilled from a bottle of ink) as well as two ‘standard international’ ink cartridges (one loose in the pen barrel and other in the box). Cartridges can be easily replaced by unscrewing from the centre of the pen. Our ballpoint pen comes with a Parker style refill already installed. To replace the refill, gently unscrew the metal end near the nib from the main pen barrel; remove the spent refill, fit a new refill and gently screw back together. Consumables are readily available from high street or online stationery suppliers. Made using recycled staves from oak wood whisky barrels sourced from the Speyside Cooperage in Scotland. Each wooden barrel can have up to 50 years usage by the surrounding Speyside Whisky distilleries, with the aroma of the whisky soaked into the wood after years of the distilling process. The nature of the wood and its purpose mean that there is a variety of shading in the grain of the wood, related to the reaction with the whisky in contact with it. Wood is the traditional material for 5th wedding anniversary gifts, and oak is for the lucky few reaching their 80th wedding anniversary! Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, of historical and enduring importance because of its hardness and workability. Brass offers superior recyclability and overall environmental advantages as it can be recycled an infinite number of times with no loss in properties or performance.
