This Off Black colourway is inspired by the faded black ink used for sacred prayers, mantras and imagery printed onto traditional Tibetan prayer flags.
Within the wider prayer flag palette, this shade represents the softened charcoal-black tones created as prayer text slowly fades through years of sun, wind and weather exposure.
We have received requests from customers for a black crossbody bag for many years, but wanted to create a version that felt softer, warmer and more versatile than a flat solid black.
To achieve this, the weave combines black threads with a deep warm grey weft, creating subtle tonal depth throughout the fabric. From a distance, the overall effect reads as almost black, while close up the monochrome texture gives the fabric softness, richness and visual interest.
